FlashLoader Demonstrator 2.8

Flash Loader Demonstrator by STMicroelectronics is a free Windows utility for programming the internal Flash memory of STM32 microcontrollers via their built‑in system bootloader over a serial (UART/RS‑232) connection. It is designed for quick firmware download, board bring‑up without a debugger, and simple production or field updates.

Key features:

• Connects to STM32 devices through a PC COM port (including USB‑to‑UART adapters)
• Programs firmware images in Intel HEX, Motorola S‑record (S19), or raw binary formats
• Supports erase, program, verify, and read operations on Flash memory
• Can access option bytes on supported devices (e.g., readout protection settings)
• Automatically identifies the target device and displays basic device information

Typical workflow:

1. Place the MCU in system bootloader mode (e.g., via BOOT0/BOOT1 pins), then connect UART.
2. Select the COM port and baud rate; the tool detects the device.
3. Choose the firmware file and target address.
4. Erase, program, and verify the image.
5. Reset the device to run the new application.

Notes:

• This tool is considered legacy; ST recommends using STM32CubeProgrammer for new projects, interfaces beyond UART, and broader device support.
• Feature availability may vary by STM32 family and bootloader version.
